Data & Algorithm Transparency Policy
This Policy explains which data Soulmate uses for compatibility insights, how recommendation logic works, and which limits apply to algorithmic systems on the website and in the app.
1. Data We Use
- profile data such as age, gender, city, interests and other user-provided details;
- compatibility inputs and answers that affect matching logic;
- interaction signals that do not require reading private message content;
- technical and safety signals used for fraud prevention and service integrity.
We do not use advertising trackers, we do not sell user data, and we do not scan private messages for compatibility decisions.
2. Why We Use This Data
- to calculate compatibility insights and suggestions;
- to personalize the user experience;
- to improve the relevance of connections and Connect interactions;
- to support safety, fraud prevention and misuse detection.
3. How Compatibility Works
Compatibility insights are based on a combination of personality indicators, interaction preferences, communication patterns, alignment scenarios and other behavioral signals. Algorithms do not diagnose users and do not decide for them whom to contact.
4. Limitations of Algorithmic Systems
- no psychological or medical profiling;
- no fully automated final decisions without the user;
- no hidden ranking of people as “better” or “worse”;
- no discrimination based on race, religion, gender, age, health, origin or other protected traits.
5. Human-in-the-loop
Users remain in control of all meaningful choices. Connects, communication, purchases and actions happen with user participation only. Trust & Safety is handled by human review rather than by automated decisions alone.
6. Data Control
Users may delete their account data in the app, through the website request form, or alternatively by email at support@slmt.app.
